We have a 300-bed healthy volunteer Phase I clinic and dental pain research clinic in Austin, Texas, which is able to accommodate large clinical trials. To help our clients efficiently manage multinational trials under multiple regulatory requirements, we deliver a continuum of Phase II-IIIb services that include clinical development, program management, monitoring, biostatistics, data management, regulatory management and pharmacovigilance. In addition, we understand our clients’ increasing concerns to ensure the safety of marketed drugs, and we bring strong post-approval expertise in late stage research, including epidemiology, risk management, REMS, safety surveillance studies, observational studies and pregnancy registries, and medical communications.

Demand for our global services continues to increase due to our scientific expertise, innovative technologies and operational excellence. In 2009, we managed 987 global regional and country-specific Phase II-IV studies, including 568 clinical protocols involving more than 323,700 patients at more than 36,200 sites.

PPD Vaccines & Biologics Center of Excellence is a first-of-its-kind network of world-class laboratory services devoted solely to vaccines and biologics drug development. The center integrates two decades of lab expertise in a single, comprehensive resource that can support various vaccine and biologic development programs. Also, our vaccines and biologics lab is the first truly comprehensive, centralized vaccine and biologics testing lab solely dedicated to custom clinical assay development, clinical testing and submission support.

Our bioanalytical lab testing facilities deliver accurate, high-quality results in compliance with GLP standards, while our cGMP laboratory services include designated biopharm and inhalation analytical teams and services as well as traditional pharmaceutical services. Finally, our global central labs specialize in comprehensive laboratory services for all phases of clinical development.
